Dr. Abraham is a licensed psychologist with training in applied behavior analysis and child therapy. She graduated in 2000 with a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and in 2004 with a Master's Degree in Psychology from Southeastern Louisiana University. She subsequently attended the University of Southern Mississippi where she received her Doctorate in Psychology in 2008. Dr. Abraham completed her predoctoral internship and two years of postdoctoral fellowship in the Behavioral Psychology Department at the Kennedy Krieger Institute through the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine in Baltimore, Maryland. Dr. Abraham worked as a staff psychologist at the Kennedy Krieger Institute until 2015 when she relocated to Concord, New Hampshire.
Dr. Abraham primarily works with children ages 18 months to 12 years with a wide range of concerns. She specializes in working with children with disruptive behavior disorders, ADHD, anxiety, and sleep concerns. Dr. Abraham has specialized training in Parent Child Interaction Therapy which is a treatment for children ages 2 to 8 years designed to address disruptive behaviors like noncompliance and tantrums while also enhancing the parent-child relationship. Dr. Abraham is also trained in behavioral approaches for disorders of early childhood including Tic Disorders, Habit Disorders, and Elimination Disorders (bed wetting, bowel accidents). Treatment frequently takes an interdisciplinary approach and Dr. Abraham will work closely with your child's medical providers when indicated, in order to facilitate progress.
Services provided include individual therapy, family therapy, group skills-based training, and assessment. Families are an integral part of all treatment approaches. Treatment is typically provided in-clinic but may be provided in home, school, or community settings based on need and insurance limitations.
